'Personal brand' is a concept you have probably often heard of, but do you really know what it means and why it is so important? It is not just about understanding and developing a brand ourselves, but making colleagues and peers aware of its relevance and helping them develop their own.

An ancient Hindu proverb states, "We only own what we cannot lose in a shipwreck". Hence, effectively cultivating our personal brand is a vehicle of creating a rich network of promoters and building a life jacket against eventual professional mishaps. Something increasingly important nowadays due to the volatility and uncertainty of the world we live in.

In this session Gabriela Salinas, Associate Professor of IE Business School and specialist in branding, will speak about the current challenges and opportunities that women leaders face when it comes to building their own personal brand.

The presentation will be interactive and based on current public cases that will help us reflect about the applications of all these concepts in the areas of job search, forging effective relationships in the work environment, taking advantage of mentoring and career development opportunities ... and much more.

Gabriela Salinas has a broad consulting, teaching and research career with an interest in strategic brand management, brand valuation and brand measurement. She is currently a member of ISO Project Committee for Brand Valuation Standardization.

She has a broad international experience, having worked in New York, Buenos Aires, Singapore, London and Madrid for clients such as Bank of America, Repsol, YPF, Chevron, Telefónica and others.

Author of several books on brand valuation and regular conference speaker on branding and marketing, Gabriela frequently appears in international business press and TV.

Her contribution to the area of brand management has been rewarded by different institutions: “Excellence Award” by the Spanish Marketing Association (Spain, 2007), the “Brand Leadership Award” (India) and the “Academic Excellence Award” by IE Business School in 2019.
