What happens when a global pandemic
turns the whole world upside down?
Businesses all across the world have been disrupted and millions of lives have been affected by the coronavirus crisis, but no other industry has been hit as hard as the sports industry. Major corporations and essential industries have used business continuity plans to quickly establish systems and protocols to move businesses online and allow their employees to work remotely so as to control and reduce the effects of the virus.
But sports cannot afford that. Visibility and continuity are the two important aspects of any sport, with matches being played round the week in some sports. Right now, both these aspects have been disrupted adversely by the virus. Sporting events all around the world have been either postponed indefinitely or scrapped, and players have been confined in their homes, not doing what they love and do best.
What's next in store for the sports industry? How do we bounce back from this pandemic? Join us as we discuss the effects of the coronavirus and the future of the sports industry with Eduardo Fernandez Cantelli, who will talk about reshaping sport management in the era of coronavirus.

Discussion about the effects that the coronavirus has and will have in the way in which sports are managed. The coronavirus pandemic has shuttered global sport, with North America’s National Basketball Association and Europe’s football leagues suspended and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games postponed. Others are at risk, including Indian Premier League cricket due to begin this month and the start of American football’s NFL season in September.
