The IE EU Club proudly announces the establishment of The IE European Union Journal
Dear Distinguished Members,
Over the past years of our Club's existance, the officers of the Newsletter Department worked dilligently to provide you with the most exclusive and informative articles on the past, current and future state of affairs in the EU. As a result, a small team of amateur authors quickly grew into an enormous factory of high-quality academic writing. Withnessing these impressive achievments and the impact they make on the entire IE Community, our organization decided to make a consequential change into our internal structure.
In particular, the Board of the IE European Union Club in coordination with the IE Campus Life and the IE School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs, hereby proudly announces the official establishment of the IE European Union Journal with our Nikola Pantelić as its Editor in Chief.
The IE EU Journal is an academic publication aimed at providing an opportunity to IE students to interdisciplinarily tackle topics of their own choice regarding European affairs and political phenomena. The Journal will be published annually, consisting of two distinct sections – the News Section and the Academic Article Section – containing all articles written throughout the two semesters.
The News Section will expand on the existing structure of the EU Newsletter revived by the EU Club last semester. The Newsletter itself will continue to exist, being sent on a weekly rather than a monthly basis. It will contain the first paragraphs of the thorough articles posted on the Journal’s website, also every week. The pieces written for the website will then be organised and published in the Journal at the end of the academic year.
The Academic Articles Section of the Journal will comprise a year-long authorship and research process mentored by renowned PhD students and professors from a wide variety of European universities. With their guidance, 10 master's and 5 undergraduate students will have the opportunity to produce rigorous, in-depth, research-based academic work on a political, social, cultural, or institutional topic of their choosing related to the European Union. Versatility across disciplines is highly encouraged (e.g., combining sociological and economic research methods in a paper). Articles may be co-written.
Simultaneously, the Board of the IE European Union Club opens applications for positions in the Core Editorial Team of both sections. Please look below to see a detailed description of each position available together with the link leading to an official application form.
The selection consists of two rounds – the formally submitted application will be followed by an interview. The deadline to applyis Friday, August 8th at 23:59 Madrid time.
We hope you are excited to join our new initiative!
From our side, we are looking forward to receiving your brilliant applications!
Best regards,
Oleksandr Mysyk
President of the IE European Union Club
