MONTHLY THEME: JOY

Joy is a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. In the month of March, we celebrate so many wonderful events to celebrate who we are and our diverse IE Community, including International Women’s Day, Creativity Day, IE Day and International Happiness Day. We appreciate that we continue to face challenge in our journeys, yet we have so much to be grateful for and to celebrate. We want to cultivate a deeper sense of contentment through this month theme of joy that strengthens our purpose, contribution and positive impact through meaning, service and shared community.

HAPPINESS WEEK!

Join us for the 3rd edition of Happiness Week at IE, March 14-19, hosted by the IE Center for Health, Well-being, and Happiness and its Student Advisory Board. This year, our theme is community & belonging and we have numerous events to support you in intentionally building our community. At the Center, we believe in nurturing your well-being through your mind, body, and soul and our events during Happiness Week will help you do just that!  #WeAreIE #WellBeingAtIE

CREATIVITY DAY

An event that will change your inner-self positively. We propose IE Creativity Day 2022 as an alignment, research and celebration of Emily Esfahani's postulates for their timeliness, impact and wealth of possibilities when it comes to creating a programme of activities and motivating the community to participate.

The Center for Health, Well-Being & Happiness will also BE co-hosting the workshop series "Be your Own Master Lab" and the Music Wednesdays concert at the Tower.

Freedom from the Known

Book by Jiddu Krishnamurti

Krishnamurti was an Indian philosopher who wrote and spoke about the nature of human behavior, thought and condition. This critical book reveals our limiting and conditioned view of the world we experience and offers insight into how we can free ourselves from what we "know". A small but mind-bending book, for anyone willing to question their reality and dig deeper into who they really are.

Book by Robert M Sapolsky

It gives detailed insight into the the importance of handling stress from different perspectives. From biological, to emotional and wellbeing. He somehow managed to be very scientific but understandable and entertaining to those who are not adept to such language with his sense of humor.

Meditate 365: A Daily Meditation and Inspiration Podcast

by Shannon Smith

It’s in Spotify, and it’s a podcast with short guided meditations that have different topics (for when you need to recharge to when you need to release stress or help sleeping). I think it’s a really good podcast for people who want to start in the habit of meditating!
