Pilar Girón Dávila, a citizen of Spain, was appointed Vice President for Human Resources and Digital Transformation (VHR) effective October 16, 2025.
Before joining the Bank, Girón Dávila served as Chief People Officer of Telefónica Hispanoamérica since 2019, where she led HR strategies, policies, and practices across eight countries and was a member of the Executive Committee. From 2014 to 2019, she was Chief People Officer of Telefónica Latin America, based in São Paulo, Brazil, and earlier served as Global Talent Director of the Telefónica Group in Madrid.
Girón Dávila brings over 30 years of executive experience across sectors and regions. Prior to her tenure at Telefónica, she spent a decade as a consultant with Egon Zehnder International, focusing on executive search, management appraisals, and talent management projects in multiple industries. Earlier in her career, she held senior strategy roles at the Altadis Group following the merger of Tabacalera (Spain) and Seita (France) and worked as a consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton in Madrid, London, and Chicago. She began her career as a financial analyst at Beta Capital in Spain.
Girón Dávila is a trusted advisor on leadership development, succession planning, and organizational transformation. She has extensive international experience in Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, Brazil, and across Latin America. Girón Dávila holds a degree in Business Administration from ICADE in Madrid and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
