This online IE Seminar explores why there are still so few women in top corporate roles, even though many more women are entering and advancing in the talent pipeline. We’ll talk about the structural and organizational barriers that make it harder for women to reach senior leadership positions and the different strategies to overcome them.

Patricia Gabaldon, PhD in Economics, is Associate Professor of Economic Environment at IE University and IE Business School. Her teaching and research focus on corporate governance, gender and leadership, entrepreneurship, and the role of institutions in economic development. She has extensive experience designing and delivering executive education programs for senior managers and board members, with a particular emphasis on board readiness, diversity, and strategic decision-making. Patricia’s research has been published in leading academic journals and explores how gender and institutional frameworks shape leadership careers and entrepreneurial growth. She also collaborates with corporations, public institutions, and international organizations on projects related to governance, inclusion, and economic policy.
