Following the successful "España Azul" expedition, the IE School of Politics, Economics & Global Affairs and Nacho Dean are thrilled to invite students to participate in the "Blue Portugal: Partnerships for Ocean Conservation Competition."

Building on the understanding that the ocean knows no borders and that plastic pollution travels across countries through ocean currents, Nacho Dean is embarking on a new journey across Portugal. This expedition will collect samples and raise awareness about SDG 14: Life Below Water.

The initiative combines environmental impact with scientific research by gathering data and samples at geolocated points for detailed laboratory analysis. The multidisciplinary team supporting Nacho Dean includes experts in project management, marketing, personal branding, communication, and sponsorships, ensuring a comprehensive approach to marine conservation.

What’s the Challenge?
Develop actionable proposals to:

a) Conserve and sustainably use marine resources.
b) Map key actors and funding sources.
c) Propose impactful partnerships aligned with Portugal Azul's mission.
d) Create an implementation roadmap for ocean conservation.

Who Can Join?
This competition is open to all SPEGA undergraduate students.

What’s at Stake?

Final Presentation: Pitch your proposal to a jury on March 5th, 2024.

Grand Prize: The winning team will experience Portugal Azul firsthand in Lisbon from April 25th to 27th, 2024—all expenses covered!
