IE Alumni Australia Club - IE x IMD Structured Networking Evening

Join the IE Alumni Community in Sydney, Australia for a Structured Networking Evening in partnership with the IMD Alumni Association in Australia on Wednesday, 18 March 2026 at 6:00pm — a collaborative event bringing together two leading global business school networks for an engaging and purposeful night of connection.

The event aims to bring together the IE and IMD alumni communities in Sydney and tap into the collective experience, perspectives and networks that exist across both schools. At the same time, allowing us to create space for new, meaningful connections and opportunities for mutual support, while also offering an enjoyable social evening together.

We are suggesting a social networking event with a lightly structured approach. The structure is designed to lower the barrier to starting conversations and help people quickly understand how they might be relevant or useful to one another.

Proposed Networking Prompts
As part of the format, participants would be invited to reflect on and optionally share some information about themselves:

• Ask me about: a topic, industry or area of experience or expertise
• I could help you with: three skills, projects, ventures, resources or areas of advice
• I would like to connect with someone in: a field, role, company or area of interest

These prompts act as simple conversation starters and can be incorporated through name tags, cards or a short facilitated exercise.

Also, note that for registration, we are also asking for additional information to facilitate the structured networking:

• Company
• Job title
• Which industry are you in? (E.g. tech, mining, financial services etc)
• I am happy to talk about / I could help you with… (List skills, projects, ventures, resources or areas of advice)
• I would like to connect with someone in… (List a field, role, company or area of interest)
