The upcoming Danish municipal elections are a great moment to reflect on how democracy functions at the local level — and how we can all take part. Remember that as EU citizen we are entitled to vote, as do other nationals that have resided longer than 3 years in the country.

Join us for an evening with Karan, IE alumnus and candidate for Moderaterne in Gentofte, who will share insights on:

How the Danish local election system works

Who can vote (including EU citizens and long-term residents)

What it’s like to run for office in Denmark

This will be an open and inclusive conversation — not a political campaign — but a chance to understand how local democracy works and why participation matters.

Venue is still TBD, with possibilities in Hellerup and Livingstone (Østerbro restaurant) deppending on attendance preferences. Pick your option below and please note at Livingstone there will be a 400 DKK/person cost to pay for dinner.
