IE, whose Business School is currently one of the top Business Schools in the world, according to the Financial Times, would like to invite you to an inspiring talk about Why is everyone suddenly talking about TechScouting? With IE Professor Joe Haslam on the 12^th October in Oslo.

Although TechScouting or Technology Scouting is not a new concept, the last 18 months have seen a surge in interest in the creation of Techscouting capabilities within both large organizations and SMEs.

The importance of align innovation with corporate strategy, the increasing speed at which it is possible to bring a product to market and the fear of Disruption all contribute to a need for someone to simultaneously look both outside the organization as well as within for new innovation.

In this masterclass, Professor Joe Haslam will:

Contrast three different models of innovation (Disruptive, Open and Frugal) and when to use each one.
Outline best practice of how startups should engage with Corporates and vice versa.
Explain Techscouting and show how the role is managed within leading firms.

Joseph Haslam

Joe Haslam is the Chairman and Cofounder of Hot Hotels, Europe´s leading mobile only last minute hotel booking app. Hot sells hotel rooms in 54 countries and was the first startup founded in Spain to be accelerated by the Techstars program in the USA. Joe has cofounded a number of other companies including Marrakech.com which raised over
$75m in Venture Capital. At IE Business School, he is the Executive Director of the owners Management Program an Executive Education Program designed for startups that want to scale. In the MBA program, he teaches an elective called Trillion Dollar Challenges which focuses on the impact of exponential technologies are having in fields such as Energy, Telecoms, Agriculture, Heath and Education. Born in Ireland,
Joe has lived in Madrid for the last 12 years.
