In this interactive Masterclass, Prof. Nick van Dam examines what truly differentiates effective leaders in a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence. As AI transforms how organizations operate, learn, and compete, the critical question for leaders—especially those responsible for learning and leadership development—is no longer what machines can do, but what humans must do better.

Drawing on research and insights from his book Leading with Human Skills, Prof. van Dam introduces a practical framework of five defining human capabilities—intuition, integrity, instinct, imagination, and identity—that form the foundation of the “human edge.” He connects these to essential human skills that future-ready professionals need to cultivate to remain relevant and effective.

Participants will actively engage in discussions and have opportunities to connect with other professionals, exchange insights, and reflect on how to apply these ideas in their own context.

Rather than positioning AI as a threat, this keynote reframes it as a catalyst—one that elevates the importance of distinctly human strengths. Professionals who develop these capabilities will not only adapt to change but shape the future of work.

Event Schedule:
18:30-20:00 Keynote by Prof. Nick van Dam
20:00-21:00 Cocktail and Networking

NB: Attendees will be a mixture of IE Alumni and prospective IE students.
