In this session, Jaime will share a candid perspective on what scaling really looks like today, based on his journey as an entrepreneur, an operator inside several fast-growing startups and now leading startup engagement at Microsoft. We’ll talk about growth in uncertain environments, the trade-offs founders underestimate and why scaling is less about speed and more about making the right decisions at the right time. This is a practical, no-theory discussion grounded in real execution, real mistakes, and real outcomes.
Jaime de Mora is a technology leader with experience across the full startup lifecycle—from founder to operator to ecosystem builder. He has helped startups raise over $300M in funding and scale globally, working closely with leadership teams on growth, execution, and high-stakes decision-making under uncertainty. In parallel with his industry work, he is a researcher and professor focused on AI and Entrepreneurship, bridging academic insight with real-world application. Today, he leads the technical arm of the startup organization at Microsoft across EMEA, partnering with founders and executives to help high-growth companies scale successfully across markets.
