Join us for another IE Masterclass in Lisbon for some continuous learning and networking with fellow alumni and the IE local community.
In this IE University masterclass, May 21st, Professor Gayle Allard will delve into the economic landscape, reflecting on the 2023 and projecting the geoeconomic and financial trends that will mark 2024. With a focus on labor market dynamics, she will discuss the impact of technology — particularly AI — on employment, inequality, and overall well-being. The session will conclude with discussions about the trajectory of these trends across short, medium, and long-term horizons.
The session will be followed by a networking cocktail.
About the Professor
Dr. Gayle Allard has been a professor of Economics for IE Business School since 2001, where she teaches students in various Master and Executive Programs. Her research has centered on labor markets and how their rigidities affect unemployment, and more recently she has moved into development issues. She has a small NGO which creates, and funds projects related to water access and women´s education in Ethiopia and, in addition to her academic publications, she appears regularly in the international media as a commentator on today's key economic problems.
