This IE Giving Season, the IE Thailand Alumni Club invites our alumni in Thailand to join in contributing to a meaningful cause by participating in Cycling Event to Raise Awareness on Gender Based Violence: A Safe Journey With Her, a cycling event aimed at raising awareness about gender-based violence on Sunday 24 November 2024, 15.30 – 21.30.
This event is hosted by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, in partnership with the embassies of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, along with UN Women and UNFPA, and supported by Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and Cafe Velodome. It brings together community members, UN staff, and embassies in a shared commitment to end violence against women and girls.
This is a unique opportunity for the IE alumni community in Thailand to show support to this important cause! IE Alumni and their families & friends are welcome to join for all activities or select parts of the event.

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence (GBV) is an international civil society led campaign that takes place each year, starting on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and ending on 10 December, Human Rights Day.
Key objectives
- An empowering, fun, and family-friendly event aimed at raising awareness, inspiring advocacy, and showcasing innovative solutions to end violence against women and girls.
- Offering an informal platform for dialogue among the Thai public, government representatives, and civil society organizations on current priorities and initiatives to address violence against women.
- Amplifying the voices of organizations and advocates committed to preventing violence and providing support to women and girls affected by it.
Location: Netherlands Ambassador’s Residence (106 Witthayu Road, Bangkok), → UN Conference Center → Lan Khon Mueang (BMA Townsquare)
Who? The event aims to engage around 500 participants, including a maximum of 250 cyclists.
Bicycles: The organizers will provide bicycles (but you can also bring your own), helmets and insurance to the 250 cyclists. Registration and pickup of bicycles starts at 14:30.
Registration: kindly fill out this registration form and all the information required to ensure smooth registration and inclusion in the insurance. Deadline for registration is November 22nd.

Hear from distinguished speakers as we begin the event with a call to action for a future free of gender-based violence. - 16:00 – Cycling Tour
Embark on a scenic bike tour to key city locations, symbolizing our collective journey toward change. - 17:15 – Refreshment Break
Recharge with refreshments at the United Nations Conference Center before the final stretch. - 18:00 – Tour Completion
The ride concludes at Lan Khon Mueang (BMA Town Square) with refreshments and networking opportunities. - 18:45 – Outdoor Film Screening
Join us for an open-air screening of Children of the Mist, introduced by the film’s producer, highlighting stories related to GBV.
