Join us on May 16th at the GOOGLE offices in Zurich for an exclusive IE alumni event on Leadership
What does "Leadership in the era of AI and PolY Crisis" involve? In this new era of technological disruption, coupled with poly crisis (climate, social, economic, among others), do leaders need to embrace new mindsets, skillsets, and perspectives, or will tried and true methods suffice?  How can leaders foster adaptability and embody forward-thinking in this age, all the while keeping an eye on ethical considerations.
During this event, we will have the chance to hear diverse viewpoints from a highly senior group of leaders and scholars who are at the forefront of shaping the inner and outer competencies required for the workplace of the future.
Moreover, the event provides an opportunity to co-create together through networking and develop fresh perspectives collaboratively.

Martin Gutmann teaches leadership and management at the Lucerne School of Business and ETH Zurich. His research probes the contributions of a historical perspective to solving contemporary challenges, including topics such as leadership, sustainability and public policy.

Martin has published four books, including most recently the best-selling The Unseen Leader. How History Can Help Us Rethink Leadership. His writing and commentary has appeared in outlets such as Forbes, Monocle, Big Think, Business Insider and Neue Zürcher Zeitung.

Martin holds a PhD from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University (USA), an Executive MBA from IE Business School (Spain) and a Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard University (USA).

Mauricio (Mauri) specializes in catalyzing external and internal transformation for individuals and organizations. With over 20 years of executive experience in pharmaceutical companies, he has operated across more than 40 countries, leading large, diverse teams distributed globally within highly complex organizations spanning various countries and continents. Additionally, he boasts over 15 years dedicated to professional, team, and agile coaching, as well as facilitation experience focused on leadership and organizational development.

He brings a multi-faceted background as an Engineer, Executive MBA graduate from IE, and holds certifications from ICF & EMCC as a Professional and Senior Team Coach, alongside mindfulness and yoga instruction credentials.

Following his departure from Novartis in 2023, Mauri transitioned into an independent strategic digital transformation consultant, alongside his roles as a professional and team coach. A fervent advocate for sustainability, he co-founded the Swiss Inner Development Goals Center. Additionally, Mauri is poised to co-author "Inner Development Goals: Stories of Collective Leadership in Action," scheduled for publication by De Gruyter in November 2024.
