In this context, where biological, psychological, and cultural factors determine our thinking without us noticing, why we think what we think? What influences us when we make a decision?
We live exposed to a constant whirlwind of information, data, and opinions. We need to filter and decide at great speed. Feeling confused is common and understandable. Our minds, under all kinds of pressures and urgencies, tend to take shortcuts that do not always lead us to the right destination.
On top of that, technology often seems not to be working in our favor.
Drawing on examples from everyday life, we propose a conversation between Sciences and Humanities with the aim of better understanding how we reason so that we can think better and make fewer mistakes.
This workshop explores the idea that a decisive part of our identity, decisions, and beliefs is shaped by invisible, automatic, and non-deliberate processes.
We will provide conceptual and experiential tools to think more clearly about our own thinking, fostering an attitude of greater lucidity, responsibility, and care toward ourselves and others.
