Led by Dr. Pilar Filgueira, a psychologist and PhD holder, this participatory session will combine a live shadow experiment, interactive discussions, and real-time polls to help attendees reflect on how digital media influences our mental well-being.

Pilar Filgueira
IE Counseling
Pilar Filgueira is a psychologist with a PhD in Psychology and extensive experience in research, teaching, and social intervention. Specializing in Social Psychology, she has dedicated her career to understanding the interplay between subjective well-being and social inequality, with a focus on human development. Pilar’s academic journey includes multiple international research residencies, peer-reviewed publications, and a strong background in methodological teaching.
She has held roles as an assistant professor at leading institutions in Argentina, such as the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina and Universidad Austral, and has worked as undergraduate theses supervisor. Beyond academia, Pilar has contributed to social impact initiatives, coordinating outcome measurement for the "Módulo Sanitario" program at Fundación Horizonte de Máxima.
Currently serving as a guidance counselor at IE University, Pilar leverages her academic background and interpersonal skills to support students in achieving their academic and personal goals. Her professional journey is marked by a focus on fostering understanding, critical thinking, and resilience, both in and outside the classroom.
