Wim holds a Degree in Law from the University of Ghent (Belgium) and completed his MBA from IE Business School Madrid in 2006.  

He has 7 years of experience in a legal environment (4 years at the Brussels Bar in addition to 3 years as in-house counsel). Belgian Nationality; fluent in Dutch, French, Spanish and English.

He pursued an MBA at IE Business School and joined IE’s Career Management Center in 2007, with a strong focus on Placement, Job Search and Career Transition Coaching, soft skills enhancement, Career education and Program Design. Among other activities, he designed the IE Finance track in 2010 (a soft-skills enhancement program for BBVA)

During fall 2012, he launched his own training and coaching business: ‘MADkills’. Since then, he has coached several high-potential individuals at junior, mid-management and executive level, looking for a change in their professional life, furthering their career and/or, alternatively, looking to improve certain interpersonal and management skills (EI, communication/persuasion, impact/influence, leading (high performance) teams, dealing with tight deadlines, stress, extreme situations, etc.). In addition, he has conducted several in-company courses for Spanish firms: International Negotiations, Team Dynamics, and Time Management.

In February 2013 he started a collaboration with Netexpat (a global leader in assessing, training and coaching expatriates and their partners) . By now, Wim is a seasoned cross-cultural expert and has successfully completed a fair number of cross-cultural communication and leadership coaching assignments for a fine selection of renowned Multinationals with subsidiary in Spain.

In addition, he has been collaborating with VATEL,  Nebrija University, EAE and Schiller and has been lecturing several courses and workshops over the past 7 years:  Business Law, Hospitality Law, Labour Law, Negotiation Skills, Competencies Development, Leadership and Cultural Communication and Management.

At this current stage, he acts as Head Mentor of the BBA Corporate Mentoring Program for IE University, collaborates as external General Advisor for the MBA-program (2020-2021), runs teambuilding and cultural communication workshops during IE University’s Orientation Week and teaches the Advanced Seminar “The Future of Work and our Workplace”.
