Eligibility Criteria:
- Education: Master’s or PhD degree completed before September 2027
- Work Experience: Between 2 and 6 years of professional working experience
- Relevant Expertise: Demonstrated alignment with chosen work program
- Language Skills: Fluent in English; fluency in a second or third language preferred (Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish)
- Nationality: Must be a citizen of a WBG member country
- Employment Status: Must not be a current WBG employee
- Family Rule: No close relatives employed by WBG
- Values: Strong commitment to WBG’s mission and values
Highlights of the YPP:
- Global and competitive selection
- Initial start in HQ followed by field rotations in various World Bank Group offices
- Initial 2-year program followed by a 5-year contract upon performance
- Working experience across the World Bank, IFC, and MIGA through rotations
- Tailored training program in coaching, mentorship, and leadership
Recruitment Timeline:
- Applications open September 1, 2026 and close on September 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM UTC.
- Longlist: Full applicant list is reviewed in October 1-15, 2026. Top 10% are selected for the next stage.
- Assessment: Virtual interviews, Leadership Assessment and Technical Assessments issued frm October 15-31, 2026.
- Interviews: Panel interviews and case studies in Washington DC & Abidjan in December or Paris & Bangkok in January.
- Final Selection Notification: Background check. Offers sent in late January 2027 – early February 2027.
- Start Date: September 2027
