Join us on Wednesday, October 21st for an on-campus career session with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for a presentation on the bank, the career opportunities they offer, and some practical guidance on how students can join the Bank. Open to bachelor's, master's students and alumni.

They are particularly interested in meeting students studying Economics, Finance, Business Administration, International Business, Management, Law, International Relations and other related disciplines.

 

Internships:

  • The EBRD does not have a formal internship programme, but they do employ interns on a fully-paid basis for positions that arise on an adhoc basis.
  • EBRD internships provide an insight into the Bank and its activities and allow you to apply the learning from your studies in a practical working environment. The EBRD encourages applicants who have an understanding and interest in the mission of the Bank as well as its region of operations.

  • Requirements
    • Applicants should be studying at a post-graduate level, or have just completed their undergraduate programme.
    • Studies should either be in progress or have been completed within the last 12 months.
    • Education: economics, banking and finance, business administration, law, human resources, communications and the sciences.
    • be a national of a Member Country of the EBRD;
    • be fluent in both spoken and written English.
    • be able to obtain the necessary UK visa to allow for Headquarters opportunities - EBRD provides support for visa applications to candidates who have been offered an internship
  • Application process:
    • The recruitment process includes online application submission, initial CV screening, online assessments or technical tests, and competency-based interviews.
  • Conditions:
    • Internships normally last between 3 and 6 months, depending on the requirements of a specific role, but may be extended for up to a maximum of 12 months.
    • Location is Headquarters in London, UK, as well as resident/regional offices like Warsaw and Istanbul.
    • Monthly stipend between €1,000 and €2,000

International Professionals Programme:

  • The 24-month International Professionals Programme (IPP) is an immersive, focused and supportive programme for early-career graduate candidates to unleash their potential and kick-start a career at the EBRD.
  • There will be rotations through departments relevant to your specialism, including an assignment to one of our Resident Offices, deepening your understanding of and engagement with the EBRD’s mission and impact in our countries of operations.
  • Positions are available in the following areas: Banking, Digital Transformation, Risk, Climate Strategy & Delivery, Evaluation, Finance, Operations, HR & OD, Communications, IT.
  • Requirements

    • Recent graduate degree in a relevant field (see requirements for each role advertised).
    • Fluency in written and spoken English.
    • Another language is desirable.
    • You must be a national of one of their shareholder countries.
    • A keen interest in international development, private sector development, and field-based practical work.
    • An eagerness to work in any of our countries of operations during the programme and your future career with the Bank.
    • Results-driven with an open and flexible attitude towards change.
    • 6 to 12 months’ experience of working, travelling, or volunteering.
  • Application process:
    • Initial Screening: HR reviews your CV and cover letter to verify baseline criteria like nationality, degree relevance, and early-career experience.
    • Online Assessments: Numerical, verbal, or logical reasoning tests completed remotely.
    • Video Interview: Pre-recorded questions focusing on motivation, behavioral fit, and commitment to the bank's mission.
    • Assessment Centre: Deep-dive competency interviews, and potentially case studies or technical skill evaluations with senior staff.
