Details

Every year, millions of tonnes of agricultural and forestry residues are burned, left to rot, or disposed of at a cost. What many still overlook is that this waste can be transformed into biochar — a high-value carbon material with applications in soil enhancement, construction, and carbon markets.

This session will walk through how residues can become the foundation of a scalable carbon business, covering the full value chain from biomass sourcing to carbon credit generation and project economics.

The talk will be delivered by Alexis Vallée, sustainability strategist and lecturer at IE, and Andy Martínez López, Managing Director at Lignaverda. After the session, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and connect with others interested in this emerging space.
