Sputnik Las Rozas Climbing Trip (Segovia and Madrid)

Join us for a trip to Sputnik Las Rozas, one of the largest climbing gyms in Spain!

This event is open to climbers of all levels. Both bouldering and rope climbing will be available, so it’s a great opportunity to try new types of climbing, push yourself a bit, meet others, and spend an active day together. We’ll be bringing together the Climbing Clubs from both Segovia and Madrid, so it will also be a great chance to meet new students who share the same passion.

Segovia students:
(bus transport will be provided)
- meet at Via Roma bus stop (Aqueduct) at 09:15
- arrive at Sputnik at around 10:45
- leave Sputnik again at 17:00
- arrive back in Segovia at around 18:15–18:30

Madrid students:
If you are joining from Madrid, you will need to make your own way there. Ideally, it would be great if you could arrive around 11:00 so everyone can start together, but if that’s too early, it’s completely fine to arrive a bit later, around lunchtime. Since the ticket is a day pass, Madrid participants are also welcome to stay later than the Segovia group if they want.

Price and payment
Because Sputnik gave us a favourable group rate, payment has to be handled through us centrally rather than individually at the gym.

The ticket price is:
- Segovia participants: 15 €
- Madrid participants: 14 €

To complete your registration, you must make the payment when signing up and upload a screenshot as proof of payment.

They also require us to send them a final attendee list with each participant’s:
- full legal name
- ID document (DNI / NIE / Passport)

Please make sure the information you enter when registering is accurate.

Equipment
Your ticket includes entry only. Equipment rental is not included in the ticket price.

If you do not have your own gear, you can rent equipment directly at the gym, including climbing shoes, harness, belay device, rope, and helmet.

We will also bring around 20 pairs of climbing shoes from the Segovia campus gym to help reduce rental needs. Since the number of pairs is limited, priority will be given to those who sign up first. However, these may still not be enough for everyone, especially in the most common sizes, so ideally people who are the same size can coordinate and share during the day. Of course, if you have your own shoes, definitely bring them.

Lunch
Lunch is not included. If you want, you can bring your own packed lunch and eat during the day. Sputnik also has an on-site canteen/restaurant, La Cantina, where you can buy food and drinks. They offer a range of options, so if you prefer, you can simply eat there instead of bringing food.

Rope climbing
Both top-rope and lead climbing will be possible. For lead climbing, Sputnik requires a quick on-site safety test. If you pass it, you’ll receive a green card that allows you to climb and belay lead in the facility. 

Cancellations
We cannot offer refunds. However, if you can no longer attend, you may sell your ticket to another IE student. If you do this, you must inform us in advance so we can update the attendee list sent to Sputnik. Otherwise, the new person may not be allowed to enter.
