In this four-session workshop we will look at how to transform seemingly mundane events from day-to-day life, into gripping and revelatory personal essays that are simultaneously unique, but also speak to universal experience. The methodology will include a series of exercises such as memory mapping, short writing exercises using prompts, and group-based discussions of the work produced during the workshop. Participants will gain the confidence to turn their own lives into plot, while learning tips on the craft of writing and framing.

The instructor, award winning journalist and author, Pallavi Aiyar, will use examples from her own work and that of others, to help illustrate the subject matter.
