Lee Newman

Lee Newman is Dean of IE Business School and a professor of Behavioral Science and Leadership at IE University in Madrid, Spain.
His work and interests center on Behavioral Fitness and Positive Leadership, and in particular, on translating and applying behavioral science to help professionals optimize their performance in the workplace. Imagine an organization in which employees at all levels can out-think and out-behave the competition, over and over again. This is a company with a behavioral advantage, and Dr. Newman’s professional mission is to help individuals and companies achieve this type of advantage.
Prior to pursuing a career in academia, Dr. Newman served as an Engagement Manager with McKinsey & Company in Chicago and was a founder and senior manager in two technology-based startups in New York City.
Dr. Newman holds an interdisciplinary Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in Psychology (Cognitive) and Computer Science (AI), as well as a Certificate in Cognitive Neuroscience. He also holds an MBA from The MIT Sloan School of Management, a Master in Technology & Policy from MIT, and a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering from Brown University.

Daniel Corsten is Associate Professor of Operations Management at IE University. Before joining IE, he was an Associate Professor at London Business School and University of St. Gallen. He obtained his PhD at University St. Gallen where he was also Assistant Professor and Director of the Institute of Technology Management and Logistics. Daniel taught or researched as a visiting scholar at INSEAD (France and Singapore), the Wharton School, (USA) and the Harvard Business School (USA).
Daniel is a frequent keynote speaker on Operational Innovation and Leadership, Strategy Execution, Scaling Start-Ups, Direct Brands, Retail Transformation, and Supply Chain Resilience. He received numerous awards for his engaging participant-centric teaching and directed many executive programs, among them the ECR Progressive Management Program, a collaboration between the University St. Gallen, Wharton School, WHU, London Business School and Cambridge University. Since joining IE, he has contributed to or directed programs in Austria, France, Germany, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, and the United States.
Daniel is co-author of the book: Shelf-Confidence: A Practical Guide to Reducing Out-Of-Stocks and Improving Product Availability in Retail, which is based on 20 years of research with global retailers and sponsored by the Consumer Brands Association of America and the Procter & Gamble Company.
Thomas Gruen

Tom has lived in New Hampshire since the summer of 2011 when he arrived to take a new challenge at University of New Hampshire, where he served for 9 years as Chair of the Marketing Department at the Peter T. Paul College of Business, and he now serves as Professor of Marketing. Previously he served on the faculty of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and on the faculty of the Goizueta Business School at Emory University from 1996-2001. He holds Ph.D., MS, and MBA degrees in Marketing from Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business. Before entering the academic world, he worked as a retail trade association executive for ten years.
Tom’s primary teaching focus is on marketing management and strategy targeted towards MBA and Executive MBA audiences. In 2010, Tom adopted Marketing: The Big Picture® curriculum, and works with the Big Picture Partners to teach the curriculum in executive development programs. For several years, Tom was also a regular visiting lecturer at ESCP in Paris, France.
His research focuses on the management of customer relationships, including retail out-of-stocks, category management, sales and marketing outsourcing, and customer-to-customer value creation. His research has been widely published including the Harvard Business Review, Journal of Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Business Research, and Journal of Applied Psychology.

Ana has enjoyed 30+ years of career in Procter & Gamble, leading different areas of the Product Supply organization and holding responsibilities of Country, European and Global nature. During this period, she has gone through different experiences in Manufacturing, Human Resources, Demand Planning, Physical Distribution, Customer Service Operations and Customer Logistics. She has led different European and Global networks and organizations, and owned Supply Chain capability building programs.
In her current role as Supply Chain Senior Director for a Global Business Unit, Ana is leading the design and execution of the Supply Chain Value Creation Strategy with Global Retailers.
She is President at Centro Español de Logística (CEL) and member of the council of the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares (UAH).

Manel Jiménez is Director of Operations at Tendam (formerly Grupo Cortefiel), where he is in charge of the IT and supply chain areas. Before making the leap to the Madrid-based company, he had held the same position at Desigual between 2010 and 2015. Before entering the world of fashion, Jiménez worked in companies in the food sector, such as Danone, where he worked for more than ten years. Previously, Manel had held positions of responsibility in companies such as Damm or Chupa Chups. Jiménez holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.
