The London Consensus
Join us for a conversation and reflection on the major economic and social challenges shaping today’s world. During his visit to IE University, Andrés Velasco, author of The London Consensus and Dean of the School of Public Policy at LSE, will be in conversation with Toni Roldán, Assistant Professor of Public Policy at IE University, to discuss key issues such as economic growth, inequality, technological transformation, and the role of institutions in a rapidly changing global context.
This will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience.
An event designed to foster an open and rigorous discussion on the ideas that should guide public policy in the 21st century.

Andrés Velasco is the Dean of the School of Public Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He was a member of the G20 Eminent Persons Group, and he co-chaired the Global Panel on the Future of the Multilateral Lending Institutions. Velasco was a presidential candidate in Chile in 2013. He also was the Minister of Finance of Chile between March 2006 and March 2010. During his tenure he was recognized as Latin American Finance Minister of the Year by several international publications.
Toni Roldán Monés

Toni Roldán is a Spanish economist and politician. He holds a degree in Economics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a Master’s in Public Policy from Columbia University. He began his professional career as a researcher and analyst in national and international institutions, specializing in political economy and public policy. Since then, he has developed his career in academia. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Public Policy at IE University.
