Learning Innovation at Rector’s Office, in collaboration with the Faculty Office and the Research Office at IE University, invite you to Knowledge in the Age of AI, an afternoon recognizing the faculty research that is putting artificial intelligence to work in the production of knowledge.
The internal call drew contributions from across all Schools, on AI both as a tool for research and as a phenomenon of study. The event brings the community together around a single question: what does it mean for a university to create knowledge when the tools of inquiry themselves are changing?

Manuel Muñiz
Manuel Muñiz is the Rector of IE University and a Professor of Practice of International Relations. As Rector, he leads the formulation and implementation of the institution’s strategic vision, strengthens IE’s research ecosystem, and oversees its international expansion, including the development of global academic and corporate partnerships. He also serves as Chair of the Board of IE New York College, a U.S. higher education institution located in Manhattan and a cornerstone of IE’s global university project.
Santiago Iñiguez
Santiago Iñiguez de Onzoño is President of IE University and a prominent figure in global higher education. Formerly Dean of IE Business School, he has held positions at leading academic institutions worldwide. He is a Professor of Strategic Management, an author of several books on executive education and management, and a frequent speaker and media contributor. He holds a law degree, a PhD in Moral Philosophy and Jurisprudence, and an MBA from IE Business School.
Martina Pasquini
Martina Pasquini is the director of Learning Innovation at IE. She holds a PhD from Bocconi University and is Associate Professor of Strategy at IE University, specialising in strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship with a focus on social impact and shared value creation.
Her EU- and government-funded research explores identity-based strategies, pro-social investment and sustainability, and she publishes in leading international journals while actively contributing to the global academic community.
Konstantina Valogianni
Konstantina Valogianni is Associate Professor of Information Systems at IE Business School and Academic Director of the Doctorate in Business Administration at IE University. Her research focuses on designing artificial intelligence and machine-learning solutions that generate business and societal value, with particular emphasis on sustainability, electric mobility and smart energy systems. Her work has been published in leading academic journals, including Information Systems Research, Production and Operations Management, Journal of Management Studies, Information & Management, Decision Support Systems and Energy Policy. She teaches AI, machine learning, and technology and innovation management across master’s, executive and doctoral programs.
Andrew Bertoli
Andrew Bertoli is an associate professor at IE University in Spain. His research examines how sports shape society and politics. He is author of the recent book Beyond the Stadium: How Sports Change the World. Prof. Bertoli also studies quantitative methods in the social sciences, and he works on best practices for using AI in both teaching and research. Prof. Bertoli received his Ph.D. in political science from UC Berkeley in 2016, where he also earned an M.A. in statistics. Prior to joining IE, he held postdoctoral fellowships at Dartmouth (2017-2018) and the University of Southern California (2016-2017).
