Deception

Palestinian writer Adania Shibli reflects on war, violence, and memory against the backdrop of a disoriented Palestine. Following Minor Detail — a novel recounting the rape of a young woman during the 1949 Palestinian-Israeli conflict, shortlisted for the 2021 International Booker Prize and finalist for the 2020 National Book Award for Translated Literature — comes Deception, a powerful and heartbreaking story in which two young people attempt to live a normal life in circumstances where nothing is normal for Palestinians who have been stripped of their land, history, and identity.

At the end of the event, the author will sign copies of her books.

Event in English with simultaneous interpretation into Spanish.
