The book traces desire across time and space, from Antiquity to the 21st century, mapping not only bodies but also gazes, cities, and personal mythologies. Before being published as a book, some of the stories circulated anonymously on Zenda under pseudonyms.
The result is a dialogue between two distinct voices: Solano’s intimate and emotionally penetrating perspective, which embodies the lovers of literary myths, and Calero’s richly documented narrative worlds and historical settings, where eroticism pushes the boundaries of what we know about the lives of its protagonists.
At the end of the event, the authors will sign copies of their books.

Speakers
Maria Jose Solano
Art historian, author, and cultural manager
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Art History from the University of Seville. She also holds a diploma in Portuguese and an MBA in Cultural Management from the University of Salamanca. She has taught courses on Cultural Heritage in the Department of Tourism and Contemporary Art at the Leonardo da Vinci School, as well as Art History courses in the Master’s Program in History Painting at Nebrija University. She worked for 10 years at the Royal Spanish Academy.
An art historian and co-founder of the digital literary magazine zendalibros.com, she is co-editor of the Zenda-Edhasa collection of classic novels and a columnist for ABC and Ethic. She is the author of the literary guide Jerez, the travel book Una aventura griega (A Greek Adventure), a series of literary travel essays collected under the title La mujer que besó a Virgilio (The Woman Who Kissed Virgil), and the book of erotic short stories Geografía del deseo (Geography of Desire), co-authored with journalist Jesús Calero.

Jesús García Calero is a journalist and the editor-in-chief of the Spanish newspaper ABC Cultural. His areas of expertise include reporting on cultural heritage and cultural policy, as well as public outreach. He is the author of Don Juan contra Franco (2018), an investigative work focused on Francoist intelligence reports targeting monarchists in 1948; Geografía del deseo (2025), a collection of erotic short stories; and Alcalá de Henares. Historia entre ficciones (2024), a literary journey through the history of Cervantes’s birthplace. He has also published the poetry collection Lecciones de tiniebla. He is a leading Spanish-language journalist on underwater archaeology, known for his investigations into the “Odyssey Case” and the San José galleon. He has been a distinguished guest on several archaeological missions in Spain and France and has published essays on this subject, including: Instructions for Finding Treasure (*Antropología*, INAH bulletin, Mexico) and The Impact of Mass Media on the Discrimination of Hispanic Sunken Heritage and the Implementation of the 2001 UNESCO Convention (APCONF, Honolulu).
