Stephen Fry is a British writer, actor, screenwriter, playwright, journalist, poet, comedian, television and radio presenter, podcaster and film director.
He has written and presented numerous documentary series, contributed to newspapers and magazines, appeared frequently on radio programmes, worked extensively as a voice actor and published four novels and three autobiographies: Moab Is My Washpot, The Fry Chronicles and, most recently, More Fool Me.
His most notable acting credits include his award winning performance in Wilde; his iconic collaborations with Hugh Laurie in A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Jeeves and Wooster and Blackadder; as well as memorable appearances in major film productions such as V for Vendetta, the Sherlock Holmes films and The Hobbit trilogy. His most recent television work includes The Dropout on Hulu, The Sandman and Everything Now on Netflix, as well as the third season of The Morning Show on Apple TV+.
Openly gay and a committed advocate for LGBTI+ rights, Fry has spent more than three decades raising awareness and promoting equality. His award winning documentary Out There, which portrays the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people around the world, is a notable example of this commitment.
Sir Alex Ellis, British Ambassador to Spain, will introduce the event.

As an aspiring young photojournalist in South East Asia in the 1980’s, Gary Knight (b. 1964, UK) supplemented his meager picture sales by selling his own blood. In the Balkans, he developed his career working on the frontlines in that violent civil war, where he met lifelong friends Alexandra Boulat, Ron Haviv, Christopher Morris, and James Nachtwey, who, with Antonin Kratochvil and John Stanmeyer all became founding members of VII Photo Agency. Crisscrossing the globe for Newsweek and building networks everywhere, he saw the demise of the traditional photo agency model and the early signs of decline in print media. His determination and vision led to the creation of VII. As Executive Director of The VII Foundation, he leads a team that supports fiercely independent journalism and trains and mentors a new generation of journalists in the Majority World, who are best placed to tell their communities’ stories to the world.
