Our members had the privilege of visiting the German Chamber of Commerce in Spain, also known as 'Cámara de Comercio Alemana para España' or 'Deutsche Handelskammer für Spanien.' We extend our gratitude to Markus Kemper from AHK for his insightful presentation on the organization's work in Spain.
During our visit, we gained valuable insights into the structure and the pivotal role that AHK plays, both globally and within the Spanish context. This experience provided us with a comprehensive understanding of the Spanish economy, highlighting its distinct characteristics and differences compared to the German economy. It was an eye-opening opportunity that underscored the deep interconnections between the Spanish and German economies.

Together with the German and French ambassadors we got a direct and personal insight into the European Council Meeting in Granada! Beyond that, many current events and developments in the European Union were discussed and debated together. The war in Ukraine, now also in the Middle East, climate change, globalization, economic dependencies on other states and much more pose great challenges for the EU, but it also shows once again the immense importance and significance of this alliance. We take the statement of the French ambassador "The main challenge is to maintain the unity of Europeans." as a clear task from this discussion and thank all participants for the great exchange.

We where able to hear from Fabian Huttner, the representative of Deutsche Bundesbank (German Central Bank) for Spain, as he talked about the role of a central bank, current economic challenges, and his career journey at Bundesbank. As a foreign bank representative within the Eurosystem, he plays an important role in the unified monetary policy. In his previous role, Huttner was involved in exploring the bank's future topics, making him the perfect speaker to learn from. In a world that faces many challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, it is important to work together and deepen mutual understanding and trust. Join us to hear his insights on these topics and more!
