Nature Rx: Medicine for the Body, Mind, and Soul
by IE Center for Health & Well-being
Back to EARTH MONTH AT IE
Details
Spending time in nature is one of the simplest—and most powerful—ways to support our well-being. Research shows that just 30 minutes a day outdoors can reduce stress, boost creativity, sharpen attention, improve physical health, and enhance our overall sense of happiness.
Small changes in our daily routines—like adding plants to our spaces, taking walking meetings, scheduling time outdoors, reducing screen time, or working near a window—can help us reconnect with nature and experience these benefits.
Across the globe, 82 universities are collaborating through the Campus RX Network to create more opportunities for students to connect with nature. From interactive maps of green spaces to outdoor classrooms and nature-focused activities, institutions are rethinking how the outdoors can support learning and well-being.
At IE, we’ve already taken steps in this direction, and with a collective effort, we can lead the way in integrating nature into our academic and campus experience.
Join us for this session to learn more about the science behind nature’s impact on well-being, get inspired by global initiatives, and explore what more we can do together as a community.
