In the fast pace of academic and professional life, it can be difficult to find moments of calm and clarity, and over time this can feel draining.
IE University, in collaboration with Bodhi Light International, an established Buddhist organization, will host a workshop led by Master XianXin and Venerable XianPu. This session offers an introduction to Chan meditation, a traditional practice that can help quiet the mind, strengthen concentration, and approach daily challenges with greater stability and presence.
While Bodhi Light International is a Buddhist organization, this workshop will be offered in a secular and inclusive spirit. Its meditation teachings are open to everyone, regardless of faith, background, or religious beliefs.
Participants will learn practical techniques that may support:
  • Reducing stress and mental overload
  • Strengthening focus and sustained attention
  • Developing emotional balance and resilience
The workshop will include a brief introduction to Chan meditation, gentle stretching to prepare the body for sitting, and a guided meditation session. There will also be time for questions and informal discussion. We aim to make this session as interactive as possible, so attendees are warmly encouraged to bring their curiosity and questions.
No previous meditation experience is required. This session is open to both beginners and those who already have an interest in, or ongoing practice of, meditation.
Comfortable clothing is recommended. Participants are welcome to sit on the floor if they feel comfortable doing so, and in that case, please bring a yoga mat. Chairs will also be available for those who prefer them.
