Details
Funny how the practice of sitting down with our eyes closed to simply observe in silence can give rise to so many interpretations, far-reaching benefits, unique personal experiences, misconceptions and, for most of us, frustrations too.
The purpose of this session is to support you in refining your own answer to the question “why meditate?”; one that taps into your values. To do so, we will review the existing high-quality research on its benefits, and a conduct joint exploration into how it can make space for a deeper sense of meaning, purpose and inner peace (what one may call our spiritual life).
On the science side (for my fellow analytical folks) we will focus on 4 neural pathways involved in:
- Stress reduction and recovery.
- Compassion and loving kindness
- Attention
- Sense of self (Default-mode network)
On the spiritual side, we will explore the implications of living more intentionally and in accordance with our values.
How would you approach life if you were 1% more present, compassionate and open? IE's meditation challenge is a great opportunity to find out.
