Rodrigo Aguirre de Cárcer
Peace Coach
Rodrigo Aguirre de Cárcer is Senior Vice President and Director of Social Impact and Civic Engagement at the Spain-based financial services firm Beka Finance. Before, he held the position of Managing Director for eBay Anuncios Spain as well as advisor to Groupon Spain.
Rodrigo is furthermore co-founder of SocialBid, the first company in the world dedicated to helping NGOs raise funds through the online sale of products and services donated by companies and individuals. In addition, he has worked for Bain & Company, Goldman Sachs and Citigroup (Salomon Smith Barney) and is an Ashoka fellow and Rafael del Pino scholar. He graduated magna cum laude (in Economics) from Northwestern University in 2003.
Simultaneously to working in these fast-paced environments, Rodrigo has been deeply involved in a personal quest of understanding what fosters happiness, purpose, resilience, peak-performance and fulfillment amongst people, with a special focus on the business world. This lead him to develop extensive personal experience in Zen meditation and Mindfulness (including multiple silent retreats and a 1,5 year sabbatical dedicated to contemplative study), as well as in psychotherapy, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and yoga.
What had started as an individual journey began to spread in 2012 as Rodrigo, convinced of the value of mind-training in achieving professional success and personal fulfillment, started sharing his observations with others in a clear and practical way adapted to the pace and language of our day and age. Through word of mouth, the number of people benefitting from these encounters has been growing, and, Rodrigo currently works with individuals and leading organizations on resilience, stress management, mindfulness, mind training and emotional maturity. Rodrigo has coached some of Spain’s leading executives in these areas.
In 2018 Rodrigo was named one of Spain’s "Top 100 Economic Leaders For The Future" by the Choiseul institute.
