Bio:
Hames Bitar was born in Syria in 1968 into a family with a musical tradition, and has studied the Arabic oud since a young age under the guidance of his father. His passion for flamenco led him to Spain in 1998.
As a performer and director, he has driven the creation of several Arabic musical ensembles, such as Ensemble Alruzafa with singer Omar Sarmini. He has also been involved in fusion music projects like Darawish and Flamenco a la Turca, as well as various dance companies. His work includes a trio with soprano Cristina del Barrio and Javier Celada, as well as frequent duos with many musicians. He has performed at numerous national and international festivals, both as a soloist and as a member of various ensembles.
