The Madrid Campus Qualifier of the IE Public Speaking Championship is an exciting opportunity for IE Madrid students to showcase their communication skills and compete for a place in the Grand Final. Centered around the theme “Voices That Shape the Future,” participants will deliver speeches across various categories. A panel of judges will evaluate each performance, and the top five finalists from Madrid will be selected to advance to the Grand Final in Madrid, where they will compete against finalists from other universities.

Speach Categories:

Persuasive Speech: Participants argue a position on a topic of their choosing, aiming to change the audience’s mind through logic, evidence, and rhetorical skill. Each participant will have 3 minutes.

Entertaining Speech: Speakers deliver a speech designed to delight, amuse, or captivate the audience. Each participant will have 3 minutes.

Storytelling Speech: Participants tell a real or imagined story that conveys a powerful message. Stories can be personal, historical, or creative. Each participant will have 3 minutes.

Motivational Speech: Speakers deliver a speech designed to inspire the audience to take action or shift perspective on a challenge they face. Each participant will have 3 minutes.

Provocative Speech: Participants present a deliberately bold or unconventional point of view intended to challenge assumptions and provoke thoughtful debate. Must remain within IE’s code of conduct. Each participant will have 3 minutes.

After each participant delivers their speach, there will be a networking + catering time.
