Chinese calligraphy is a form of aesthetically pleasing writing (calligraphy), or, the artistic expression of human language in a tangible form.
Chinese calligraphy and ink and wash painting are closely related: they are accomplished using similar tools and techniques, and have a long history of shared artistry. Distinguishing features of Chinese painting and calligraphy include an emphasis on motion charged with dynamic life.

Part two of the Views on Heritage event series! We will go on a trip to Sepúlveda and Duratón, to visit the variety of patrimony that is hidden within them: romanic churches, roman sites, and a Visigothic necropoli that will let us examine how rural heritage is percieved, how it has evolved through history, and the role it plays nowadays. We will be accompanied by a faculty member that will serve as a guide.

Should societies delegate life-and-death decisions to AI?
Join the IE School of Humanities for an engaging lecture on the ethics of killer robots by Prof. Lechterman, a philosopher who holds the UNESCO Chair in AI Ethics & Governance at IE School of Humanities.
This masterclass takes place in the context of the TechIE conference.

Join the IE School of Humanities and the IE Creative Writing Club during IE Arts & Humanities Week for a creative writing workshop as part of the IE Foundation Prizes in the Humanities Workshop Series!
In this three-session workshop we will look at how to transform seemingly mundane events from day-to-day life, into gripping and revelatory personal essays that are simultaneously unique, but also speak to universal experience.

Art is not only in museums. In the streets of Madrid you can find more art than you imagine. In this street art route we will approach the city as an open-air museum and explore the Embajadores area: full of art, history and culture. Together we will look at the city with different eyes.

Join us once again for our weekly Music Wednesday event!
For this special edition of Music Wednesday, we are celebrating all things Arts and Humanities! From 17:00 - 18:00 we will have a very special poetry reading from Felix Valdivieso's new poetry book Besos de otros mundos with performances on the spot. From 18:00 - 19:00 we will have a special DJ performace provided to us by the Enterprise Records Club.
At 19:00, feel free to head over to the Theatre Performance in the Auditorium!
Every week Music Wednesday provides our IE community with a fun and exciting musical experience! Drinks will be provided for those who register to the event.
Meet us in the piano lounge on floor -4 from 17:00 to 19:00 for your weekly dose of good music and even greater people :)

WE ARE BACK!
This year, the theatre club will be presenting "The Amateur Killer" a brand-new play written by Robert Scott. The story follows an amateur theatre production with a director who is letting his personal history with an actor affect their relationship as he directs the production of “Adieu” in the local Amateur Dramatic Society, but it’s his knowledge of the actors’ affair with a fellow cast member that will lead to murder.
Wanna find out more? Come solve the murder alongside our club ;)
We will be serving light refreshments and snacks before and after the performance.

The visit will be led by the exhibition´s curator, Juan Claudio de Ramón Jacob-Ernst.

Join the IE School of Humanities and the IE Foundation for the kick off event of IE Arts & Humanities Week 2024!
Enjoy a conversation on the past, present, and future of art, followed by a cocktail and premiere of the digital artwork by Natalia Stuyk in the context of the MMMAD Madrid´'s Urban Digital Arts Festival.
The event will be opened by Manuel Muñiz, Provost of IE University and Head of the IE School of Humanities.
