Climate Tech Lab & Climathon Info Session

Interested in climate innovation, entrepreneurship or building solutions to real-world sustainability challenges? This session will introduce two opportunities within IE’s climate innovation ecosystem: Climathon Madrid and the IE Climate Tech Lab.

Climathon Madrid is a week-long challenge-based innovation experience where multidisciplinary teams work on local circular-economy challenges in Madrid’s Built Environment. Through a series of workshops, masterclasses, mentorship and independent team development, participants move from understanding a challenge and mapping the wider system to developing, validating and pitching a solution with a credible pathway toward real-world implementation. Promising opportunities can continue beyond the Climathon through further validation, venture development, pilots and potential investment.

Climate Tech Lab is IE’s venture-building programme for teams working with an existing climate technology or technically mature solution. It brings together entrepreneurial talent, researchers and technologies to explore commercial potential through market validation, business modelling, industry engagement, mentorship and commercialization strategy.

The session will explain how both opportunities work, who can participate, how to get involved, and the pathways available for students and researchers interested in forming teams, working with emerging technologies, developing ventures and connecting with IE’s wider climate innovation ecosystem.
