Maya Helbaoui

Maya Helbaoui, from Lebanon, works in the Public Affairs, Healthcare field. Maya holds a Doctorate in Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D). Her work has always been centered on Healthcare & Media specifically, policy, advocacy and public affairs, so doing the IE International MBA immersed her into the business side.
At Roche, Maya’s main work is around building valuable partnerships with different stakeholders in the Middle East like the healthcare authorities, policy makers, patient groups, and media by adopting new creative and nontraditional approaches in order to shape the healthcare environment and health systems and help as many patients have access to quality healthcare.
Maya works closely with the Ministry of Health in pursuing collaborative solutions and diagnosing main gaps in disease awareness and management. She has shaped the direction of the national breast cancer awareness campaigns by introducing new creative themes targeting nontraditional audience and this led to an increase in screening in remote areas by more than 20%. The national campaigns received international awards.
Maya also works with Patient Advocacy Groups (non-governmental organizations focused on patient support) and Media agents - she launched the first accredited Capacity Building Program in the Middle East with the American University of Beirut - built the individual, organizational and policy capacities of Patient Advocacy Groups and Media to help them lead an advocate role and promote for patient-outcomes-focused Healthcare systems.

Dr Basma AlBuhairan

Dr. Basma AlBuhairan Executive Director Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) Selected Adjunct Assistant Professor, Tulane University Dr. Basma AlBuhairan is an accomplished and seasoned expert with unmatched achievements in investment promotion and attracting foreign direct investment, and has held leading roles in government facilities. She is currently an Executive Director to the Governor of SAGIA and, as such, plays a key and strategic role across the organization. Additionally, she has spoken on a number of international panels representing Saudi Arabia focused on the importance of women’s economic empowerment.
Dr. AlBuhairan has held a number of leadership positions in healthcare throughout her career, initially as Director of Laboratory Operations at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and subsequently as Assistant Deputy Executive Director of Medical Services at the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh. Immediately prior to joining SAGIA, as Managing Director for Health Care & Life Sciences, she served as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer at King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz University Hospital at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.
Her achievements transcend international borders as she is a Fellow of the prestigious Eisenhower Fellowships Organization and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Global Health Management and Policy of the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She also serves on the TIGER Initiative Foundation International Committee, the Eisenhower Fellowships Community Board, and the Eisenhower Fellowship Global Network Council.
Dr. AlBuhairan received her Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science from King Saud University in Riyadh, followed by a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Subsequent to that, she received a Master in Public Health and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Public Health and Health Services Research from the University of Sheffield in Sheffield, in the United Kingdom.

João Góis
Student of the Bachelor in Communication and Digital Media

João was born in Portugal and is currently a student of the Bachelor in Communication and Digital Media at IE University, in Spain.
He has been part of several different marketing and entrepreneurship projects across different sectors, including a clothing brand which he co-founded in 2017 and Leap Conferences, a project that focuses on the organization of events about entrepreneurship and lifestyle design. Currently he joined the development of a NGO based in London called EndIOM where he works as a Communications Officer.

Amanda Louise Skaar

Amanda is a Norwegian-Swedish Master’s Candidate at IE Business School, studying Management with a Specialization in Digital Business. She is also coordinator of the IE Women in Business Club and the IE Running Club. She spent the past five years working and studying in France. While finishing her Bachelor in International Business Administration at the American University of Paris in 2013, she joined the International Chamber of Commerce in the Global Policy Department, where she helped develop anti-corruption, corporate responsibility and human rights guidance. She later joined the Chief of Staff and Global Communications team in 2017. As head of social media and frequently reporting from events between Sydney, Geneva and New York, she broadened her exposure to policy analysis on issues such as environmental stewardship, sustainable finance, trade finance, e-commerce and internet governance. In addition to her passion for responsible business, Amanda loves travelling, kitesurfing, handball and meeting new people.

Kristiane Uksnoy Gabor

Kristiane is a Norwegian second year BBA student at IE University, currently based in Segovia. She has experience from Amnesty International Norway, serving as leader of a local group for youth working to increase awareness in the local community of human rights issues all over the world. When working with human rights, she discovered a passion for women’s rights and empowerment, and is looking forward to continuing to develop and use this passion being leader of the Women in Business Undergraduate Chapter. Before coming to IE, she also spent a year working as an elementary school teacher in Norway, and in the future, she would like to work within educational technology.
