One Workshop divided in two sessions:

23rd March at IE Creativity Center 16h
24th March at IE University Segovia Campus 13h

Have you ever heard about 'The Hero's Journey'

A universal narrative structure that appears in most of the stories told by humans since they are humans. In this workshop we will learn the basics of the monomyth pattern as it was describe by Joseph Campbell. We will discover the different stages, the figures involved and the role of the hero. Then, we will apply these elements to a practical exercise on creativity where we will put into practice what we have learnt at the same time that we have fun playing games.

In narratology and comparative mythology, the hero's journey, or the monomyth, is the common template of stories that involve a hero who goes on an adventure, is victorious in a decisive crisis, and comes home changed or transformed.

A hero ventures forth from the world of common day into a region of supernatural wonder: fabulous forces are there encountered and a decisive victory is won: the hero comes back from this mysterious adventure with the power to bestow boons on his fellow man.

IE Adjunct Professor Ritxi Ostáriz started his career as an independent designer, working with clients within the music business and the cultural sector. He has led web and motion graphic projects for television, commercials, and animated short films, many of which have been screened at festivals around the world.

Just as his passion led him towards design, it later pulled him into the world of education. In addition to his work with independent clients, he began teaching regularly in design schools in different parts of Spain and directs a podcast on Phylosophy and Anthropology called El Libro Rojo since 2017.
