IE Creativity Day 2023: WIC Closing Live Gig

We suppose that all the doubts about WINTER INDIE CITY (WIC) are generated because it must not be a very common model in the current scene of festivals or "indie" music cycles. And we say this with all due respect to the "heroic era", as they would say, because "indie" at that time meant a series of values and attitudes that are now almost extinct.

And why do these extinctions occur? Normally because of adaptations to the new times. Walter Benjamin already warned when he explained how dangerous it was that cultural goods were absorbed by the market and became just that, merchandise.

WIC stores in the imaginary the word "independence" in a primitive and personal sense: attitude to do things in a spontaneous way, also amateur and passionate, to listen to the heart, which is what music is made of.
