Through IE's Shadowing Experiences, you will shadow professionals in one of IE's departments or international offices, participating alongside them to observe, assist, and gain insights. If you want a deeper understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities, tasks, and key dynamics required for your future job or career, these programs are for you.
IE Shadowing (Madrid & Segovia): Available to students currently in 1st and 2nd year (single degree) and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year (dual degree).
International Shadowing: Available to students currently in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year (single degree) and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year (dual degree).

Shadowing lasts a minimum of one week. The exact duration depends on the department or international office you're assigned to and the arrangements you make.
Shadowing experiences are primarily in person. The schedule and duration vary depending on the Shadowing Experience, host department, or international office. You are expected to attend all scheduled activities on time and in appropriate attire.
You are expected to participate in all tasks with interest and respect. Tasks may include observation, meetings, events, assistance, feedback, and more. Open communication with your mentor is also expected.
All Shadowees must fill out a short final feedback form as part of the shadowing experience. Once you've completed the experience and submitted the feedback form, you will receive an official certificate.
