As part of IE Mental Health Awareness Month, this student-led event invites participants to explore the evolving role of artificial intelligence in therapy and emotional care.

Organised in collaboration with the Public Speaking Club and the Big Data & AI Club, the session is designed as a reflective and structured conversation rather than a technical panel or formal debate. Participants will be at the centre of the discussion, encouraged to think out loud, reflect critically, and engage with complex questions around AI, psychological support, and human presence.

The conversation will be supported by two expert voices:

  • Rani Biswas, therapist, who will bring a clinical and relational perspective on therapy, emotional care, and what makes psychological support meaningful beyond advice or validation.

  • Iñigo Cavestany, IE professor and AI specialist, who will contribute an ethical and technological perspective on what AI can and cannot currently offer in the context of emotional and psychological support.

The event will be structured around prompt-based conversation rounds, allowing time for individual reflection, clarification questions to the experts, and short student interventions moderated by the Public Speaking Club. The aim is to prioritise depth, listening, and critical thinking, while creating a psychologically safe space for exploration.

Participants attending the event will receive a certificate of attendance, suitable for sharing on LinkedIn, signed by the Vice Rector of Student Affairs and the presidents of the participating clubs.

Open to all students interested in mental health, therapy, AI, and the future of care.
