The grand finale of TechIE Day. After a full day of panels and conversations with people building at the frontier — this is where you get to show us how you build.
This year's hackathon is powered by Cursor AI — the tool used by the world's best engineering teams to move faster, ship smarter, and build things that weren't possible before. You'll work alone or in teams of up to 4, with Cursor credits provided, to build and ship something real. No technical background required. Just the drive to build something that actually does something, and leverage the tool as much as you can.
👩🏻💻 How it works:
Apply by Sunday March 22nd at 17h.
Selected participants will be invited to a meetup on Tuesday March 24th at IE University (location confirmed via email) — this is where the challenge drops. We'll walk through everything in person: the brief, what to build, what to submit, what the jury is looking for, and how to use your time. Cursor credits will distributed on the spot, and from that moment, building begins!
If you don't have a team yet, no problem — Tuesday is also where teams can come together.
On Wednesday March 25th, a mentor session runs from 15:00–16:00 at IE Tower (4th floor) for teams to refine their projects and sharpen their pitches (location will be communicated too). Then at 17:00, the finale kicks off in the auditorium — live demos, a jury of engineers, VCs, and people from Cursor, and prizes for the top teams.
Prizes will be revealed to the confirmed participants.
‼️ A landing page, a demo deck, or a basic chatbot won't make the cut. The jury is looking for something that actually does something — an agent, an automation, a tool with real utility. The bar is set by how far you push Cursor, not how polished your slides are.
Spots are limited. Apply with your team or fly solo and find yours on Tuesday.
