A WEEK TO DEDICATED TO DIVERSITY, SUSTAINABILITY & WELL-BEING (APRIL 25-28)

As in every month, we want to highlight the key themes for our community and draw attention to their connection with well-being. To close April, we focus on our relationship with nature, celebrating Earth Day; the importance and value of diversity, on occasion of Global Village, and how to strengthen our well-being in connecting with nature and others, especially as many of you enter exams periods.

Check out the agenda and join us from April 25-28! More detailed information below

Global Village Day

IE Global Village Day is one of the largest events at IE, where an array of different geographies are represented. There will be a wide and engaging showcase of customs, cuisines, and dance performances from the worldwide spots that IE students call home.

The event will take place on April 28th from 4pm-8pm at the Maria de Molina campus (MM31 Garden) so we are merging Global Village with the Outdoor Fest with DJ & Foodtruck that we unfortunately couldn't celebrate during Happiness Week!

To kickoff the event, you are also invited to an interactive session on Why Well-Being Matters for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) at 3pm!

SHIFTING TO "PLAYER MINDSET": STRATEGIES TO COPE WITH IMPOSTOR SYNDROME

Very often we wish our negative emotions would go away. Who wouldn't want to have a button to turn them off at will? The same is true for the Impostor Syndrome. The more it appears, the more we wish it would go away, and paradoxically, the more solid and strong it becomes in our mind. What can we do then? Your emotions are your allies, and the impostor syndrome, in a way, is too. Join us on May 9th!

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS

Tuesdays with Morrie

Book by Mitch Albom

This is one of those rare books that helps you put things into real perspective. It invites us to remember what's really important and reevaluate how we spend our time and what our priorities are. I highly recommend it!This practice asks you to pay attention in particular to the feelings evoked by nature. Research suggests that people often feel positive emotions like awe, connectedness, and hope in natural settings, and taking time to acknowledge these feelings can strengthen them. The perfect practice for this month!
