European Speech Contest: The Art of Persuasion

On February 10th, IE Debate Club will be hosting the “European Speech Contest - the Art of Persuasion” in Madrid, Spain. In this hybrid event, we will again invite college and highschool students to compete on the highest level to show off your speech and argumentation skills. Through 3 intense rounds of judging, each contestant will be able to prepare three 60 second speeches to exhibit your best. As the amount of competitors dwindles, and the tension grows, there will only be one winner in each category. In the final round, a current Member of the European Parliament will be deciding who will win from both categories.


The high school winner will be awarded a 100% scholarship for IE ‘Pre-College Summer Program’ (age 16-17). With a 4,800€ value, it includes 2 weeks room and board in Spain to experience the IE University experience, completely free. More information can be found here.


The undergraduate winner will be awarded a 100% scholarship for IE ‘Pre-Graduate Summer Program’ (age 18-26). With a 3,200€ value, it includes 3 weeks in Spain to experience the IE Masters, including all items on the agenda (accommodation not included). More information can be found here.


More information will be sent to those registered, and those coming in-person will also get the ability to network with other ambitious students! The cost to enter the competition is 20€.
