Celebrated on June 21, International Yoga Day celebrates the physical and spiritual prowess that yoga has brought to the world stage. The date of June 21 was chosen as it is the Summer Solstice, a suitable occasion to engage in the ancient practice of completing 108 sun salutations with the season change.
Continuing with this tradition we inaugurated at IE in March 2022 to welcome the spring, we are inviting all our IE Community members (plus friends and family), from seasoned to beginner yogis, to join us for this 2nd edition to welcome the summer as well as change and new energy!
The 108 sun salutations are usually done as a spiritual practice at special times such as transition between seasons, spring/summer or fall/winter, full and new moons. Why 108? The number 108 is considered to be a very spiritual and sacred number in the Hindu religion and is the number of names given to God Shiva. The approximate distance between the Earth and the Sun is 108 times the diameter of the Sun.
Important information:
- Please bring your own mat. We will have some extra ones, but not for everyone!
- Friends and family are welcome to register and join! (Registration required)

Data suggests that modern-day workers are under a lot of pressure and stress. During this conversation, we will talk about psychological factors that contribute to career stress such as the different definitions of success, the input from social media, and the myth of having it all. We will also examine how the science of positive psychology can be applied to our work lives to mitigate some of effects of present-day demands. Finally, we will discuss meaning and overall well-being at work as well as practical tools to manage our professional lives positively.

The March Equinox is also International Happiness Day (March 20th) and marks the end of the Winter and beginning of the Spring. To celebrate this transition period and the end of IE Happiness Week, we are inviting all our IE Community members, from seasoned to beginner yogis, to engage in this ancient practice and welcome change and new energy!

Come celebrate a traditional Holi Festival with IE Asia Club and IE India Club!
Additional support as well from the IE Center for Health, Well Being, and Happiness.
Holi is a popular ancient Hindu festival known as the “Festival of Colors”. It celebrates the end of winter and the arrival of spring. It is a festival to meet others, laugh, have fun, and party.
Date: Saturday March 19 2022
Hours: 11:00 to 13:30
Who can come: Everyone! Feel free to stop by for a basic entry to enjoy the celebration of Holi. Or, come and join us for the whole time!
Location: The event will take place at the Norther Garden on the Segovia Campus. It is located outside of the Cave.
There will be organic colors, food box, and a DJ!
Make sure to bring a change of clothes to change into after the event!
Open to students on Madrid campus (Undergraduate and Master).

Join us for an artistic and enlightening experience at the Thyssen Museum in Madrid, in partnership with the IE Arts & Humanities Division! The Thyssen Museum will be hosting a guided tour in English on pieces that highlight ‘Life’s Pleasures’ for IE community members.
Attendees are expected to meet at the entrance of the museum at 15:45 for a 16:00 start time. The tour will last approximately one hour.

A dance class to invite you all to release your inner self through dancing and yoga flow movements! A way to calm and relax the mind and body.
12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Come paint with the Center for Health, Well-Being and Happiness and the Art Club to create a square of something that brings you joy! Each square will be put together into a mosaic made up of the creations of students from all 3 campuses! The mosaic will be hung up on campus as a celebration of joy in the IE community.
This session will be guided by Cozy Haugen, IMBA student and author of Sockfoot Soldier.

Have you ever wondered how to become happier? Throughout this session we are going to explore a holistic approach to happiness based on the latest scientific research. We will dive into the 5 wellbeing pillars : Spiritual, Physical, Intellectual, Relational and Emotional with practical exercises and tools that you could use on a daily basis to bring positive changes in your life that will lead to a happier life.

In this exclusive workshop for the IE community, Eva Katharina Herber will present the advanced applications of the ABCDE model through the exploration of a real case taken from her book "Activa Tus Fortalezas. Desarrolla tu potencial más auténtico".
After learning the five essential skills of strengths development, and taking home a toolbox of practical exercises, you'll leave the workshop with a plan of action for navigating the complexity of your life with the help of your strengths.
