  • USEFUL INFORMATION

Consult the guide to learn about different ways to help yourself or someone you know that has experienced any type of violence.

If someone tells you they were sexually assaulted or are in a toxic relationship, remember that you might be the first person they have told. Your response helps determine whether they feel safe and supported telling others or seeking additional help.

About Us

Welcome to Women & Allies. We are here to make our university a place where everyone can thrive regardless of their gender.

We follow the law and lead the way in integrating the gender perspective in everything we do. We work closely with faculty, students and staff with the support of the government of Castilla y Léon.

We follow the law and lead the way in integrating the gender perspective in everything we do. We work closely with faculty, students and staff with the support of the government of Castilla y Léon.

We have four main goals:

  • To raise awareness and promote equality and prevention of gender based violence. We do this through various activities, such as the CASA FAF II collaboration, the Purple Corner, the Volunteerism Fair, HerStory The photo exhibition and through STEM Talent Girl.
  • To involve teachers in projects to promote equality and prevent gender based violence. We did this by partnering with DolightUp, with a program for gender inclusive teaching, creating a best practices guide for our faculty.
  • To involve teachers in research related to the promotion of equality. We did this by having our professors collaborate in the Unbreakable Conference of IE Girl Up Club and collaborating with CIVICA Universities, sharing our best practices on gender equality. To update and disseminate protocols for the early detection and referral of situations of gender based violence. We do this by sharing our resource guide on sexual and gender based violence with the IE community.

María Carlota Peña

Community Manager

I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. I graduated from Comunidad Educativa Lux Mundi in 2020 and took a gap year where I did two internships and advertising through my social media. I'm currently enrolled as a Communications & Digital Media student at IE University. I consider myself as an extrovert, creative and curious person and I am looking forward to exploiting those qualities by hand with the university as a student and as part of the Gender Equality Office.

Aitana Saettone Eliasbonnemaison

Strategy Officer

I was born in Peru and lived most of my life in Lima, its capital, and now I study PPLE at IE University on the Madrid campus. I chose to study PPLE because I believe that you have to understand humanity in depth in order to contribute to solving its problems. It is this same motivation that drove me to get involved in the Gender Equality Office—I want to work towards justice that transcends gender!

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at asaettone.ieu2021@student.ie.edu!

Manuela Moscoso Sauma

I was born and raised in Bolivia. As a communication and digital media student, I love everything that has to do with art and film. And my career has made me appreciate better how we can use different forms of art in communication and problem solving. I consider that education is essential in the fight for gender equality and I believe that being part of IE Women and Allies office will introduce me to new perspectives and amplify my knowledge in this subject :)

Hey everyone! My name is Valentina and I was born and raised in Mexico City. In high school, I studied abroad in Canada for a year and later on finished my studies in Mérida, Yucatán. I have dual citizenship, Spanish and Mexican, and I am currently enrolled in the BIR program at the Tower. Overall, I consider myself an outgoing, resourceful and creative individual always willing to show strangers a friendly face! I’m proud to announce that this summer I did an internship with the IE Social Lab helping a local organization with their Business Plan and their social media marketing. Additionally, I decided to get involved in the GEO not only because I aspire to become an international advocate for Human Rights, but also, because I believe in creating a safe environment for all of us during our time at university.

I am Spanish-American and study Applied Mathematics at the Segovia Campus. After learning how essential gender equality is in today's world. I am very excited to embark on this prospective journey where we fight together for this. IE Women & Allies is crucial for our community to move forward and I am very proud to say that I am a member of this fantastic team! I hope to learn lots, but mostly, I hope to help make our university the best it can be and guarantee IE is a safe place!

Sofía Carretero

Officer

I was born in Madrid, however, I have lived most of my life in London, 14 years to be precise. In London, I went to an all girls school, where feminism was very much present and induced in our curriculum. When I moved back to Madrid, I realized that this aspect was lacking in my school. I now study Economics and IR at IE in the Segovia Campus. My friend mentioned IE Women & Allies and we both saw this as a chance to become more involved with the movement and expand our knowledge on the topic.
